Meet Linda Albinsson and Advanced Nutrition

Why I founded Advanced Nutrition.

I’m Linda Albinsson, Nutritionist with 20 years experience and Founder of Advanced Nutrition. Whilst currently living in London with my British husband and two (mostly) wonderful teens, I was lucky enough to be born in Scandinavia, strongly influenced by nature, healthy living and simplicity.

Born to a naturopath mother, i’ve always been deeply inspired to search for natural ways to get more out of life, appearance and health issues. Over decades, i’ve personally explored the effect of every food and diet out there, building a wealth of understanding around food.

As i grew up, I watched my own mother suffer with unexplained pain conditions (one of which was later confirmed as a very early known case of Lyme). The level of care, solutions and support she received was extremely limited, despite being a young person at the time. The distinct lack of answers left me wondering why no-one understood or wanted to understand the root cause, and this is still very driving everything I do today. It wasn’t until I completed my BSc in Nutritional Science that I learned how to understand the mechanics and body-system impact of common chronic diseases.

Early on in my career however, I discovered that as well as my own mother, women generally were disproportionally affected by health concerns that aren’t necessarily physiologically limited to women. Some significantly reduce life quality, but others are life-limiting. Women are forced to leave work or take early retirement.

I strongly believe that women should never need to leave their jobs due to menopause, chronic pain, or live a lifetime of unfair self-critique. I feel passionately that we all have the same right to health in the workplace, and deserve to be supported and listened to by healthcare professionals and employers.

We’re absolutely passionate about creating an equal playing field in the workplace and within families, for women in the UK and beyond. Because I believe in equal rights for all, not elitism, we keep our prices below market rate in relation to our expertise, and do work to support the poorest in the community with free health programmes.

  • This depends how ‘deeply’ you want us to work with you. One session will review your diet, identify any gaps or mistakes, and give you list of things to change, helpful tips & supplements.

If you want to work on more complex health issues and want long term resolve however, we might work together for 3-5months. You can choose how much handholding support you need, with either weekly or monthly sessions.

  • This depends on your goals and preferences: We’ll work through a program step by step, which will include diet & supplements, talking through challenges, diet reviews, testing and at home sugar/metabolism measurement. We’ll also include accountability tasks, if this is what you want.

  • We see most of our clients either biweekly or monthly, depending on how much handholding and help with implementation they need.

  • We’re highly professional individuals & degree qualified Nutritionist, and our Functional Medicine expertise speaks for itself. We’re outcome focussed, particularly helping you with the element of implementation, in the real life scenario.

Where we really differ however, is our unrivalled understanding in being able to translate your health case & test results into understanding what it is that’s causing your health issues.

You don’t have to buy into templated long-term packages, instead will make bespoke recommendations of what you need in your particular case.

  • It’s a method Practitioners use to understand what, and how, bodywide ‘weaknesses or imbalances’ in function can trigger uncomfortable symptoms. When body-systems or organs work optimally, we simply feel better. Once we have an understanding around what’s going on, we can correct the diet, lifestyle and apply natural remedies to re-balance.
