Who should test for H.Pylori*:
silent reflux
acid reflux
heartburn and indigestion
gnawing feeling in stomach, or a cold or empty feeling
feeling overly full after meals or ‘food sits in stomach’
sore throat, coughing or a need to clear the throat / sinus problems
Note that the above symptoms are acid reflux symptoms. Having acid reflux doesn’t mean that you have H.Pylori, and there can be many other reasons why you’re experiencing heartburn or acid reflux.

NHS guidelines for who should test for H.Pylori are as follows:
If a GP thinks you have a stomach ulcer, you may be tested for an Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection. You may be referred to hospital for a procedure to look inside your stomach called a gastroscopy.
